Most security deposit deductions come down to cleaning. Property managers walk through with a checklist, and the same spots fail again and again. Use this list — the same one our teams work from — to leave the home inspection-ready.
Kitchen
- Inside the oven, racks and broiler drawer
- Inside the fridge and freezer, including drawers and door seals
- Inside every cabinet and drawer — crumbs are the #1 deduction
- Range hood and filter degreased
- Dishwasher interior, filter and door edges
- Sink, faucet and garbage disposal splash guard
Bathrooms
- Tub, shower walls and glass descaled — hard water is common in Roswell
- Toilet base, behind the toilet and the hinge area
- Inside vanities, drawers and the medicine cabinet
- Exhaust fan cover dusted
- Mirrors and fixtures polished
Every room
- Baseboards, door frames and doors wiped
- Light switches, outlets and plates cleaned
- Walls spot-cleaned (scuffs and fingerprints)
- Closets: shelves, rods and floors
- Window sills and tracks
- Ceiling fans and light fixtures
- Floors vacuumed, mopped and edges detailed
Tips for a smooth move-out
- Schedule the clean after the movers leave so every surface is reachable.
- Keep utilities on until the clean is finished.
- Take dated photos of each room when the clean is done.
- Read your lease — some require professional carpet cleaning with a receipt.
Short on time? Our move-in / move-out cleaning covers this entire list, and if anything we cleaned fails inspection within 48 hours, we come back to fix it free.
